Jazz Web Site
Article Tags: site link jazz
Here's a site that is like the Real Book but online. On Ralph Patt's Jazz Web Page, you get links to chord changes for over 400 standards and a link to some backing mp3's.

I've looked through some song and printed a few to use with students to practice barre chords. The backing tracks make this site go from regular to A plus plus. I felt like and ebay feedback giver there...

Anyway, the site uses an easy to figure out notation system with repeats, song sections, and everything else simply and clearly labeled. Take a look at the first song, After You've Gone (http://www.ralphpatt.com/VB/a1.html). This song uses major, minor, and sevenths, so it's an example of one to use with students. Now, for the teacher and advanced students, use the backing track to get more a jazz feel and have something to improvise over.
