| Tango Rhythms 2 Milonga
The milonga is a type of tango rhythm. The milonga is a little more sophisticated than the marcato due to the syncopation. Tap your toe the get a sound for the downbeat and a feeling for the upbeat when your toes are up. To count this aloud, in case you don't know, you say the number of the beat and the word 'and' when your toes are at the highest peak of the tap. to count four beat measures, you'd say '1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and...' For the milonga rhythm, clap or tap your hand on something on the 1, the and of 2, 3, and four.
Remember for strumming and fingerstyle, this is more of a bass rhythm. Which for strumming takes some skill... More Tangoes to come... A reference for Tangos: (http://members.aol.com/tangero1/TangoRhythm.htm) Updated on: 2008 05 19
