Minor Pentatonic Jam
Have a new student who started that knows quite a bit. That's fun for me because it give me more diversity as a musician and forces me to 'really know' some more advanced areas. The student has some experience with jazz chords but just knew a bit of minor pentatonic scales. Here's a little progression to use with minor pentatonic that has a jazzy perspective, it's not the typical blues I IV V progression for this scale. The example is in A but change from 5th fret to another to move it.
Chords, play the top 4 notes, D G B E strings:
This is very acoustic friendly and can be strummed in a Zeppelin style. Moving to E has a nice open sound to it. Added on: 2008 09 07
