Happy Valentines
Romanza, or Romance or Spanish Melody or something else that's similar, is a lower level classical/fingerstyle piece that fits the theme of love for today. The videos below vary a bit in covering this piece, so I'll make some notes above each.
This guy covers the basic part of the song in an ear style. He'll say the notes and fingering but if you pick things up by ear that will be of greater help than just going by how he describes the fingering. This seems like a joke as far as the narrative voice goes. Is that a real accent? Anyway, this uses a picture of a fretboard to show you how to play. This, by the way, give me an idea for making a web app that does something like this in a sort of script form like LilyPond--thinking out loud. Don't laugh when you play this one. The two vids above are the first 2 results on youtube. The third one I'll link but not embed, the right hand is too sloppy. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCwR7rZa7uE) Don't bounce so much. Anyway, this 3rd vid does show the other section of Romance. There's a minor variation and a major. The arrangement is minor x2 major x2 minor, so you get this endearing sense of a love story that didn't quite end so well. In the end you're back at the beginning. Happy Valentine's Day!
