Holmes Humidifiers
For my studio, I recently purchased a Holmes humidifier. It's a cool mist type, runs on AC, and has a reasonably large water tank. If you own any hollow body guitars, you are likely humidity aware and use something to help the cause. A couple weeks ago at the local music shop, I saw the tower model sitting near a corner display of guitars. I looked up that model, a Holmes Cool Mist Tower Humidifier - HM630-U, at home, the price was right, and it arrives about a week later.
There's a few use options. Think of a ceiling fan, with hi, med, and lo settings; you have that with this humidifier. Also, and that best control feature, is a humidistat. You choose an output setting (hi, med, low) and minimum humidity, and you're set. The room I'm using it in is about 10x14 with an open stairwell, and the unit does well keeping a 45% or higher humidity. An aside, the weather change in the STL area at the moment helps too. The HM630-U is a good accessory that will help keep your guitars healthy. I ordered direct; links are below.
