Paganini Caprice 5 Section A
Being of the 80's guitar school, the movie Crossroads was a movie for us. The scene at the end where Steve Vai is the devil's guitarist is one of the coolest
80's guitar moments. In that scene, the soul winning solo is Paganini's Caprice 5 from the 24 Caprices for Virtuoso Solo Violin. This piece has a wide musical range and requires some
arrangement for guitar. *I did start this Lilypond but I'm rusty with it so did used this (http://www.hotfrets.com/tabwriter.asp). My arrangement follows the notes from the original
score. If by calling this 'my' arrangement infringes on someone else's, please let me know and I'll link to yours if that's fine. Anyway, this is arranged for classical or for picking.
The technique is straightforward, sweep picking and alternate picking. The 6 lines of tab correspond to the 6 lines from the sheet. This would be the A section of the piece.
